The books I'm going to read in September!
This is my September TBR list! Not too many this month just because I don't want to over whelm myself and I have quite a few things going on in the month of September! So number one on the list and the book that I'm currently reading in Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headly.
This book is sort of a Fantasy book (my favorite!). It's about a 15 year old girl named Aza who has a lung disease that nobody can figure out how to cure. She has been in and out of hospitals her whole life. One day she sees a ship in the sky and hears it calling her name, so she tells her family. Her family believes that it is just a hallucination from her meds, but Aza believes that its more than that. Aza ends up discovering another world called Magonia. In Magnolia she isn't sick for the first time in her life.
I'm about seventy pages into this books and I really like it so far. This will be the first review up on the blog so keep a look out for that in a few days!
The next book that I will read is Cinder by Marissa Meyer (also a fantasy). I'm sure many of you have heard about this book because lots of people LOVE it, so I'm sure that I will too! This is the first book in The Lunar Chronicles. This is about a girl named Cinder. Cinder is a cyborg who lives in a world here cyborgs are second-class citizens. It takes place in New Beijing where there is a deadly plague that decreases the population. There are also lunar people who are trying to take over the world. It is up to Cinder to save her world while also dealing with her stepmother and step sisters. She falls in love with the Prince while the whole world is relying on her.
This is a fairy tail re-telling of Cinderella. I'm so excited to read this and see what all the hype is about. I'm a bit behind because I think this book was published in 2013, but I'm still excited about it!
Next in September, I'll be reading The Maze Runner by James Dashner. This book sort of has mixed reviews. Some people love it and some don't. So I'm excited to read it and form my own opinion. This is a post apocalyptic/ science fiction book. It's a book about a boy named Thomas who gets dumped into a glade at the center of a giant labyrinth. He doesn't remember who he was before this and finds that there are many other boys who got dumped there before him. He becomes part of the group and quickly gets to be a runner. The runners are the boys who search the ever-changing maze to try to find a way to escape. When a girl named Teresa also gets dumped into the glade, she befriends Thomas and they try convince the rest of the group that they found a way to escape.
I can't wait to read this book. I have already seen the movie and loved it! They always say that the movie is better than the book so I have high expectations for this one.
The Next book I plan to read in September in The Scorch Trials by James Dasher. This is the second book in the maze runner series. This is following the same group of boys while they battle many obstacles in the scorch. They are also fighting an organization called WCKD while trying to survive.
Definitely can't wait to read this. I plan to binge read this whole series so hopefully I'm a fan!
